According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the Raiders have agreed to bring back defensive end Andre Carter on a one-year deal.
Carter, 33, had 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 12 games for the Raiders in 2012 before he was lost for the year due to a torn quadriceps.
Carter, a Bay Area native and Cal alum, is a 12-year vet and has 78.5 career sacks. He was named to his only Pro Bowl in 2011, when he had 10 sacks for the Patriots. He played his first five seasons with the 49ers.
Carter will be part of a defensive line unit that led by Lamarr Houston, Jason Hunter and newcomers Pat Sims and Vance Walker.
The Raiders on Tuesday also announced it signed cornerback Mike Jenkins and safety Usama Young.
