After a contract offer had been made last week, the Raiders have reportedly signed wide receiver/ace return specialist/Betty White’s friend Josh Cribbs. The deal is reportedly for one year.
Cribbs will give the Raiders a veteran option in an unproved corps of receivers as well as enhance the return game. The Raiders finished last in average punt return yardage in 2012. Cribbs has twice been named to the Pro Bowl as a returner while with the Browns.
While Cribbs confirmed the signing on Twitter (no clue what the Catalina Wine Mixer has to do with anything, but OK), the Raiders have yet to announce anything. That’s probably because the team needs to do some housekeeping first. The Raiders are reportedly at the 90-man roster limit and need to make room, especially with the additional reported signing of undrafted free agent quarterback Matt McGloin.
