Raiders Waive Jalen Elliott, Sebastian Gutierrez
USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders have made their first cuts since the draft.

The club announced on Twitter on Monday that it has waived safety Jalen Elliott and offensive tackle Sebastian Gutierrez.

Elliott never appeared in a game for Las Vegas, having been signed by the club to a reserve/future contract back in January.

He had previously been released by the New England Patriots back in August.

Before that, Elliott spent time with the Detroit Lions, where he played in eight games (one start) in the 2021 season. He recorded 12 tackles.

Elliott signed with Detroit as an undrafted free agent in May of 2020 after playing three seasons at Notre Dame.

Gutierrez played in just one game for the Raiders last season, the only game appearance of his career. He played just two snaps on special teams.

The young tackle had also been signed to a reserve/future contract in January, just days after being re-assigned to the practice squad.

Gutierrez had spent most of his stint with the Raiders on the practice squad after being picked up by the club in late October.

He was released by the Patriots earlier that month, less than a week after the club had signed him to its practice squad.

Gutierrez was an undrafted free agent out of Minot State. He was signed by the Denver Broncos before being released in August.

Gutierrez played three active seasons for Minot State before his senior campaign was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
