Former running back Artose Pinner is from Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He went to Hopkinsville High School where he was a stud in track, and of course football.  For college Pinner stayed in-state and went to the University of Kentucky.

Pinner didn’t become the marquee starter until his senior year. Up to his last year he ran for 691 yards and four touchdowns. As the starter, Pinner completely broke out for 1,414 yards and 13 touchdowns, making him second all-time in school history for most yards in a single season.

In the 2003 NFL Draft Artose Pinner was selected in the 4th round by the Detroit Lions. As a rookie, Pinner was the backup to Olandis Gary and only totaled 99 yards. The next season Pinner was the backup to Kevin Jones, but still managed to rush for 174 yards and two touchdowns. In 2005, he still was the backup, but was able to compile 106 rushing attempts for a career high 349 yards and three touchdowns. After the season Pinner was cut and claimed by the Minnesota Vikings. Pinner took revenge against the Lions in 2006 with a career performance of 125 yards and three touchdowns. The next season he joined Atlanta Falcons to backup Warrick Dunn and Jerious Norwood. He then re-joined the Lions, but wasn’t able to play.

Overall, Artose Pinner is most likely remembered for being a fantasy waiver wire pickup multiple times in his career.
