Ravens assistant general manager Eric DeCosta told the Baltimore Sun that they’re still looking for a veteran wide receiver after trading away Anquan Boldin this offseason. “I think the hunt goes on,” DeCosta said.. “We’re still working. The roster is not set. We’re always evaluating. We’re always looking at guys. Guys get signed, guys get cut. “Our pro personnel department looks at all available players and we’ll make a decision at some point of what we want to do at that position. There are definitely some players out there. We’ll consider all options.” The Ravens are also looking for the receivers on their roster to step up. “We’re very excited about Jacoby and the progress he made throughout last season,” DeCosta said of Jones, who caught 30 passes for 406 yards and a touchdown last year in his first season in Baltimore. “We think we’ve got some very good young players that can step up and contribute. Deonte Thompson isn’t a heralded name, but a guy we think is going to be a good player. We’re excited about Tandon Doss. David Reed is a guy who’s had a lot of injuries. He’s flashed in practice and made plays. “We’ve got some tight ends who can pick up the slack. Ed Dickson made some big plays last year in the Super Bowl, really played his best football in the playoffs. We’re excited to see him become what we thought he was going to be. We really think this is his chance to become a really good tight end in the NFL. Obviously, we’ve got Dennis Pitta, we’ve got Torrey Smith. We’ve got playmakers. We’re excited about what we can do on offense.” The Ravens have done a great job finding replacements this offseason for the players they lost.  The final piece is a replacement for Boldin.   Need NFL Tickets?

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there's a real chance that troubled linebacker Rolando McClain might be released by the Baltimore Ravens. Report: Ravens Used Mock Drafts to Know to Trade Up for Arthur Brown During 2013 NFL Draft

The next time someone tells you mock drafts are pointless, point them to this nugget of information. Like many NFL fans, the Ravens’ front office is perusing mock drafts in the days leading up the NFL draft. That’s how Baltimore knew to trade ahead of the Broncos and Texans to pick up Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown, according to Peter King of Sports Illustrated. Obviously...

Bryant McKinnie’s New Contract Includes Weight Clauses, Again

As was reported last Wednesday, the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and left tackle Bryant McKinnie agreed upon a new two-year, $7 million contract. As the details of the contract have been leaked, there is clearly still concern about McKinnie’s physical playing condition. The Baltimore Sun reveals some of the details of the freshly-inked deal, which include weight...

The Understated Fantasy Football Value of Dennis Pitta

It’s been two months since we first heard, upon Anquan Boldin’s departure to San Francisco, that Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta would benefit from the absence of Joe Flacco’s security blanket. It’s immediately clear to anyone who watched the Ravens’ (sometimes brutally bad) offense in 2012 why Pitta would be the beneficiary of Boldin’s exit from Baltimore. Pitta...

According to the Baltimore Sun, Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain plead guilty to a window tint violation that occurred down in Decatur, Alabama. After pleading guilty, the city decided to dismiss the charge of providing false information to police. AFC North: post-draft stock watch

Baltimore Ravens, FALLING: The Ravens have been losing some of their best players this offseason, and this season's Ravens won't be the same team that won the Super Bowl earlier this year. Still, the Ravens will be a good football team, but it's hard to imagine them sniffing a repeat without the help of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed or Anquan Boldin, to name a few. Playing in a...

Ravens Think Rolando McClain Deserves Second Chance

Rolando McClain’s troubles in his hometown of Decatur, Alabama almost cut his NFL career short before he could ever reach his potential. McClain was released by the Raiders this off-season and given a second chance by the Baltimore Ravens.  Days after signing a one year deal with the Ravens, McClain was arrested again in his hometown for disorderly conduct. Ravens assistant G...

Ravens to give Rolando McClain another chance

Second chances are running low for Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain. (Marcio Jose Sanchez/AP) Life doesn’t hand out second chances very often. As such, conventional wisdom would suggest those that get third and fourth chances should probably take full advantage. Linebacker Rolando McClain, by some standards, has already used up his second chance before even taking the field as...
