Found January 24, 2013 on Waiting For Next Year:
New Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton sounds like an upfront and honest guy. You want the truth, he will give it to you. On an interview with Burns and Gambo on 620 KTAR Phoenix, Horton said that he had a plan in place had he gotten the head coaching job in Arizona. When asked if Norv Turner would have come to the Cardinals with him as his offensive coordinator, Horton said “unequivically.” Horton went on to say Norv’s wife wanted to go to Arizona as well, to be closer to their daughter in San Diego. Horton also said he was surprised but not shocked that his “good friend” Bruce Arians didn’t keep him on as the DC in Arizona when he was hired, but he wishes them well and he is not the least bit bitter. Horton said “Bruce and I are friends and will remains friends.” Lastly, Horton said he is “not shocked, but disappointed” that he is still not a head coach in the NFL. Michael Lombardi the Browns new General Manager couldn’t believe the Browns would stick with Brandon Weeden, even though the team had a better chance to win with Colt McCoy. The interesting thing will be to see what happens in the 2013 season. McCoy who is still with the Browns could have a chance to start over Brandon Weeden. Report: Former Chargers O-Line Coach Hal Hunter Jr. Left Senior Bowl With A Job

On Tuesday I posted my thoughts on former San Diego Chargers offensive line coach Hal Hunter Jr., who I deemed as a strong candidate to become the Pittsburgh Steelers next offensive line coach. As it turns out, Hunter was down at the Senior Bowl this past week looking for a new job. Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune tweeted on Thursday that Hunter appears to have found...

Rob Chudzinski won’t commit to Brandon Weeden as his starter

Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski isn’t ready to name Brandon Weeden as his starter heading into next season.  He believes it’s a little premature to make that kind of decision. Chudzinski may not make Weeden his starter.  Don’t forget he didn’t draft him, the previous regime did.  So he doesn’t have any loyalty to him.  I’m not sure who else they would start...

The family of former San Diego Chargers linebacker Junior Seau has filed a wrongful death suit against the NFL. The suit, filed in California Superior Court in San Diego, claims that his suicide last May was caused by brain disease stemming from violent hits during his football career and blames the NFL for acts of omission, Pro Football Talk reported Wednesday, citing a story...

Browns Not Committed To QB Brandon Weeden?

According to Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski, it would be “premature” to assume that they are committed to Brandon Weeden being their starting next season, per Mary Kay Cabot. “I think it’s premature to say that,” said Chudzinski. Earlier indications would suggest that the new regime is not very high Weeden in general. Michael Lombardi has been brought in as their VP...

The following is a guest post by the excellent Dave Kolonich of Cleveland Reboot and the Orange and Brown Report. ————— For those of you not familiar with my site, Cleveland Reboot is something of a niche blog that goes unnoticed by many Browns fans. Although a goal of this creative endeavor is to engage an audience, I’ve learned over the years that with a larger readership...
