12► Ray Lewis needs to stop acting dumb, he knows why the Ravens lashed out at his comments. Lewis has a tendency to make everything about him and that is exactly what he did this time. Bryant McKinnie and Jacoby Jones have been hanging and partying with Sweet Pea style strippers for years and Ray Lewis was never going to change that. That is why his former teammates were particular irked by his comments that the team was lacking leadership (a subtle way of saying they missed him), but now Lewis claims he has no idea why everyone is upset. “I’m totally confused with how someone can take something and make more of it, when what I was saying was so general,” Lewis told USA Today. “If anybody takes offense to that, I don’t get it. What did I say that was so bad?” “It’s like, ‘How can you attack your team?’” Lewis said of the gist of the messages. “I’m the biggest Baltimore Ravens fan there is. When I speak, I bring the locker room perspective. I don’t understand. Who did I attack?” Lewis is use to pretending not to know things, since we still don’t know what happened to the white suit.

Ray Lewis hurt by the reaction he’s gotten from his former teammates

Former Ravens linebacker and now ESPN analyst Ray Lewis doesn’t understand why his former teammates reacted the way they did when he voiced his concerns over the leadership in their locker room this past Monday after Jacoby Jones was beat up by a stripper. “I’m totally confused with how someone can take something and make more of it, when what I was saying was so general,...

Let’s talk about why everything Ray Lewis says should be disregarded

For years Ray Lewis’ job was to play linebacker in the NFL. But now that’s he’s retired, his job is now to give his analysis on the NFL. Which sounds perfectly fine on paper since Lewis is a surefire Hall of Fame linebacker. But the problem with Lewis in his new role is the fact that he’s utterly in love with himself. So when it’s time to analyze something of note, Lewis...

Joe Flacco responds to Ray Lewis' leadership comments

One thing I hate is when a former NFL players blasts his former team not too long after leaving. After the incident with Jacoby Jones this weekend, former Baltimore Ravens star Ray Lewis did just that. He blasted the team and their leadership, saying they have none. What I do like is when a current player fires back and that’s exactly what Joe Flacco did but in subtle ways....

Trevor Pryce: Ray Lewis' leadership comments were self-serving

Trevor Pryce and Ray Lewis were teammates on the Baltimore Ravens from 2006-2010. Now, both are working in television, though with different networks - Lewis with ESPN and Pryce with Fox's Crowd Goes Wild. Earlier this week on Monday Night Countdown, Lewis questioned the lack of leadership in the Ravens' locker room following his retirement. Pryce, who has been one of the...

Ray Lewis says he would have protected Jacoby Jones from Sweet Pea

Former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis believes that his leadership would have kept Jacoby Jones safe this past Sunday night during a party bus incident in which a tripper named Sweet Pea struck him with a bottle if he was still with Baltimore. “We talk about the transition of losing so many guys, a guy like myself and Ed Reed and other guys that are based off leadership, I’ve said...

5 Ways Ray Lewis’ Leadership Coulda Helped Jacoby Jones and Sweet Pea

Ray Lewis has always been so subtle. Last time we saw Ray Lewis on the field he was taking credit for his teammates’ tackles. Last time we saw him off the field he was taking credit for leading his teammates to be their greatest. Well now Lewis has upped the ante and is now taking credit for things that could have happened had he been there to make sure they didn’t. Lewis was...

Joe Flacco on Ray Lewis' leadership comments: 'Ray knows better'

Now that Ray Lewis has transitioned from NFL linebacker to NFL analyst he's free to cut loose with the opinion making. He did just that on Tuesday pointing out that a lack of "leadership" on the Ravens caused Jacoby Jones to get hit in the head by a stripper with a champagne bottle. This logic serves as nothing more than a humblebrag; Lewis denounced the loss of guys...

Joe Flacco on Ray Lewis’ leadership comments: ‘Ray knows better than that’

Joe Flacco did not appreciate the comments Ray Lewis made on Monday night about the Baltimore Ravens lacking leadership. During the Monday Night Football pregame show on ESPN, Lewis indicated strong leadership in the locker room could have prevented the party bus incident during which Jacoby Jones was allegedly hit with a bottle by a […]

Joe Flacco on Ray Lewis’ Sweet Pea Comments: ‘Ray knows better’

After Ray Lewis made his comments about Jacoby Jones’s situation with Sweet Pea would have been different if he was still around, you knew there would be current Ravens to step up against that. Joe Flacco has a few comments about what Ray had to say: Joe Flacco on Ray Lewis' leadership comments: "Ray knows better." — Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) September 25, 2013...

Joe Flacco on Ray Lewis’ leadership comments: “Ray should know better”

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco wasn’t very happy to hear that his former teammate and current ESPN analyst believes Baltimore is lacking leadership after Jacoby Jones was hit on the head with a bottle this past weekend. “It is what it is. Ray knows better than that. Things happen. I think we’re usually a pretty good team with stuff like that. If you look around the league, there...

Ray Lewis Questions Ravens’ Leadership After Jacoby Jones’ Injury, Stripper Incident

This would have never happened on Ray Lewis‘ watch. A number of Ravens players were involved in a scuffle late Sunday night, celebrating offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie‘s birthday on a party bus in Baltimore. Wide receiver Jacoby Jones, who became a star this offseaosn after his Super Bowl heroics, got the worst of the bash turned brawl, suffering minor injuries after a stripper...

Torrey Smith defends Ravens’ leadership, blasts Ray Lewis

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith quickly took exception to Ray Lewis’ statement regarding the lack of leadership. “It’s only bad because someone went and ran to TMZ. If no one knew, it wouldn’t be an issue. We would resolve it in the locker room. It’s resolved anyways.” – Per ESPN.com After 17 years of playing for the Ravens, Ray Lewis had no problem letting...

Ravens QB Joe Flacco says Ray Lewis should know better

Quarterback Joe Flacco first heard people questioning the leadership on the Ravens when training camp started two months ago. It didn’t bother him then and he seemed equally unaffected that the latest person to do it — player-turned-ESPN analyst Ray Lewis — is a friend and former teammate. “Ray knows better than that” Flacco said in a dismissive tone. “Things happen...

Torrey Smith Downplays Ravens’ Party Bus Incident, Denounces Ray Lewis’ Questions of Leadership

You may not remember, but the Ravens had one of the most impressive wins of this past weekend, dismantling the defending AFC South champion Texans by a score of 30-9. That resounding victory has been pushed to the back burner, however, to make room for the news that Jacoby Jones was reportedly clocked over the head with a champagne bottle by a stripper on a party bus in the early...

My (And Twitter's) reasons to hate the Baltimore Ravens

5) Ray Lewis: I'm with you Joe Flacco..90% of the time I had zero idea what the hell Ray Lewis was talking about when he was praising Jesus and doing his poor man's William Wallace war speeches. Of course, it would totally behoove the suits at ESPN to give this guy a talking head spot at "The world wide leader in trolling" news desk. The guy is already being an...
