PLAYERS: Fred JacksonBuddy Nix
TEAMS: Buffalo Bills
Running back Fred Jackson has received what he calls ''an assurance'' from the Buffalo Bills that they're open to restructuring his contract. Though not provided a timetable, Jackson expressed faith a new deal will be worked out. On Wednesday, he said he got the assurance three weeks ago in meeting with general manager Buddy Nix. The Bills have a policy to not discuss contract talks. Jackson has two years left on his contract. That includes this season in which he'll make a base salary of $1.75 million, making him the team's 24th-highest paid player. Jackson has emerged as a midseason NFL MVP candidate in helping the Bills get off to a 5-2 start. He's fourth in the league with 721 yards rushing and second with 1,074 yards from scrimmage.

Jackson's wife is crafty drafter

The wife of Fred Jackson didn't take her husband until the fifth round of her league's draft, proving that all's fair in love and fantasy sports.

An Open Letter to Ralph Wilson Regarding Fred Jackson

New York Jets Defense: Can They Rise To The Occasion?

The Buffalo Bills have surprised this season led by a high powered offense. Three Things: Buffalo Bills

Its strange to write about the Jets heading to lovely Western New York trying to unseat the 1st place Bills. I don’t think words like that have been laid to paper in well over a decade. But nonetheless, the Jets head to Ralph Wilson stadium to try and take down the 5-2 Bills, while rooting for the cross-town Giants to hand the 5-2 Patriots their second loss in as many weeks. With...
