The San Diego Chargers added a veteran running back on Friday, agreeing to terms of a one-year deal with RB Ronnie Brown. Brown was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles last season, rushing for just 136 yards and one score while backing up RB LeSean McCoy. Philadelphia tried to move Brown at the NFL Trade deadline to the Detroit Lions. An injury to the player the Eagles would have received in return voided the trade.
Ronnie Brown has only rushed for over 1,000 yards once in his career, but split much of his rushing duties for several seasons with RB Ricky Williams as a member of the Miami Dolphins.
This move makes very little impact for fantasy owners this season. Third-Year runner Ryan Mathews is poised to carry the load for the Chargers this season and according to offseason reports, Mathews has reported to offseason workouts in incredible condition. San Diego also added veteran runner Le’Ron McClain this offseason.
McClain could have more of an impact on Mathews this season, if he...

Brown carried the ball just 42 times last season behind another...

Philip Rivers looks at the numbers and like any other interested Chargers observers he finds them hard to believe, too.
The San Diego Chargers signed running back Ronnie Brown to a one year contract.
Brown was nothing more than a partial handcuff to LeSean McCoy last season, so there shouldnt be any concerns about him stealing carries from Ryan Mathews.
