With the 2013 NFL Draft completed and knowing what players went where, what could the Philadelphia Eagles have done differently? In looking at what players were still on the board each time the Eagles were on the clock, is there a different player you would have taken?
It’s usually more fun to look back at a draft from years ago to see what star players your team could have taken instead of who they did. The infamous selection of Mike Mamula over Warren Sapp in the 1995 draft would be an example of that.
However, I’ve heard an array of immediate reactions to the Eagles’ 2013 draft.
After listening to some sports radio over the past few days, the Eagles’ draft has elicited some strong opinions. From happy and satisfied to disappointed and frustrated, fans seem to be all over the place on this one.
The median feeling is that the draft was “okay”, just nothing that really “wows” you. Words like “surprised” and “confused” were often heard as well. In general, some people do

LSU wide receiver Russell Shepard may have gotten Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles in a bit of trouble.
He's claiming that Kelly called him during the sixth round to let him know that they could not draft him due to lost picks in trading up to grab QB Matt Barkley.
“I actually took myself off the draft board during the draft,” Shepard said on WNXX radio, via LouisianaDaily...
It’s all about competition now for Eagles coach Chip Kelly and his quarterbacks, but at some point someone has to take the lead.
While that process has been going on for a month, the competition level was raised when the team drafted USC QB Matt Barkley.
However, Kelly want his starting quarterback to earn the role, even if that means a starter won’t be named until preseason...
Tim McManus of Philly Mag writes that the Eagles were reportedly approached by at least one NFL team regarding a possible trade for QB Nick Foles.
The Eagles “weren’t all that interested in engaging in talks” and McManus adds that GM Howie Roseman personally called Foles amid all the trade speculation to reiterate that he’s still a part of their plans moving forward...

In response to the 2011 All-Pro running back calling the greatest rushing quarterback in NFL history an “old man,” Michael Vick agreed to race LeSean McCoy in the 40 and “smoked him by five yards” on Thursday. Considering the 24-year-old McCoy ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 seconds at Pittsburgh’s Pro Day in 2009, the victory proves that Bad Newz Kennels’ mastermind can...
We've hit what we call the slow news period for the NFL. Between now and training camp, not much will happened -- except things like Mike Vick beating LeSean McCoy in a race. According to the always reputable Pro Football Talk, McCoy had been taunting Vick for weeks, calling him an old man. That led to a race, which according to back up safety Colt Anderson, didn't go so...
People questioning how Michael Vick will fit into Chip Kelly’s uptempo read option scheme need not worry about whether or not Vick can still scare defenses with his legs.
Vick will be 33 next month, but today showed he can still outrun the best of them. According to Pro Football Talk via a source close to the situation, LeSean McCoy had been Vick’s case for weeks now, calling...
It appeared, for about a minute and a half, that James Casey was the Philadelphia Eagles tight end begging to be bought at rock-bottom prices in drafts this summer.
Not so anymore.
I’ve talked plenty over the past few months about the merits of streaming tight ends if you don’t secure one of the elites in the first couple rounds of your fantasy drafts. Teams are throwing more...
I am being dead serious, Reid might have chosen the Chiefs job just for the food. I would like to think Reid is exaggerating, but something tells me he might not be.
Andy Reid during his interview with @adamschein: “I’ve eaten at about 50 Kansas City BBQ places and I haven’t found one I don’t like.” #nice

Tweet People have been highly critical of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick over the past few seasons, questioning his ability and the injury-risk that he brings because of his style of play. However, one thing that people have never been able to call into question is Vick’s elite speed. Apparently he put that speed on [...]
LeSean McCoy challenged Michael Vick to a race in the 40-yard dash, which didn't turn out too well for the youngster. Vick beat him down on the field and then again on Twitter.

Quarterbacks out of USC haven't exactly lit the NFL on fire. There have been gaudy stats and playoff wins when you look at the quartet of Arizona Cardinals signal caller Carson Palmer, Matt Cassel, Mark Sanchez and Matt Leinart. Statistically Palmer is the best of the bunch and from a wins and losses standpoint the nod goes to Sanchez. But neither will have a bust in Canton....
