NFL Trade Rumors:
According to Saints GM Mickey Loomis, re-signing unrestricted free agent left tackle Jermon Bushrod will be the biggest challenge facing the Saints front office this offseason, per Sheldon Mickles of the Baton Rouge Advocate.
“It’s going to be subject to what his perceived market is and what we’re able to do. He’s the No. 1 tough deal,” Loomis said of Bushrod.
As thing stand right now, the Saints are projected to be over the cap by $14.7 million next year (NFL Cap Space), so they’ll have to make some serious adjustments in the coming months if they hope to retain Bushrod.
The good news for the Saints is that there are a number of a quality offensive tackles on the market this year, which should really help to bring down the price of some of these players like Bushrod.
We have Bushrod ranked as the No. 28 best available player on our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Former Giants wide receiver Phil McConkey blasted Drew Brees for some of the comments he's made during NFL labor negotiations.
Besides the Falcons win at home, I think the Bucs win on the road was the most memorable Saints game of the season. This one was full of big plays and you will be able to enjoy a couple others as we get deeper into this series. For #8 on the year, though, I've picked the play that ended the game, with Patrick Robinson pushing Mike Williams out of bounds to seal the deal. Williams...
According to Steve Wyche of the NFL Network, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell hasn’t scheduled a meeting with Saints head coach Sean Payton yet to discuss his reinstatement.
Goodell said he does anticipate there will be a conversation in the near future but no date has been set. Payton, who was suspended for the season by Goodell for his role in the Saints bounty scandal, is eligible...
How valuable is Head Coach Sean Payton? Well, if you look just at records, you could say he’s worth 6 wins, as the Saints went from 13-3 in 2011 to 7-9 in 2012. However, Payton’s absence wasn’t the only reason for the decline. Drew Brees’ numbers were still great without Payton, not as good as they were in 2011, but it’s unrealistic to expect him to produce like that every...
While this game against the Redskins got the Saints' mediocre season off to a miserable start, this was an incredible play to end the first half. Special teams was one of the bright spots for the team this year, as they were consistently playing well all season long.

Team needs and impending free agents for the New Orleans Saints.
I'm overdue on recognizing Eliza18s and I appreciate the reminders to do so. Thanks to a monster run late with Guru wins in week 16 and 17, she is our 2012 season champion and winner of the $50 gift card to NFL.com. Because she's my wife I know she only owns a white old school Joe Horn jersey, so it's probably time to get a new one and I will lobby hard that the cash...
This is actually something I’d expect to hear from the likes of Mr. Skip Bayless. Colin Cowherd isn’t a stranger to his dubious opinions at times, but they are after all his opinions.
On Cowherd’s afternoon radio show on ESPN ‘The Herd’ he spent a lot of time heaping praise on rookie QB Russell Wilson. And to his credit, Wilson deserves that praise, despite the loss,...
Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has refused to confirm whether a fee has been agreed with Molde for defender Vegard Forren.
The 24-year-old centre-back has long been linked with a move to the Barclays Premier League, with Liverpool, Everton and Fulham believed to have shown an interest in acquiring his services.
It is understood Molde have now accepted a bid from Southampton for...
