While most did not anticipate the Jets to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, those same people didn’t see this that humiliating loss coming.
-Other than that opening drive, in which the Jets marched down the field to score a touchdown, there really aren’t many positive offensive attributes to speak of. BUT, during that drive, the Jets started on their own 10, went 4/5 passing and ended with a 14 yard pass to Santonio Holmes—all the while giving us false hope that the rest of the game wouldn’t be a disaster.
-The defense had a good 1st quarter, holding Pittsburgh to just one field goal. The defense also forced Pittsburgh to punt on four of their nine possessions.
-The offense was largely incompetent. They could not convert on 3rd down—just 4-12. They were completely shut out in the second half.
