Hawks dominate in 1st division win of 2012 The Seattle Seahawks didn’t just win this game, they completely owned it from kickoff to final whistle. It felt at one point as if it was a game of Madden ’13 being played between a seasoned pro and a toddler who was button mashing his controller. It’s no secret that the Hawks are tough to beat at CenturyLink, and they kept their home unbeaten streak alive this season in convincing fashion. There was a certain air of confidence in the stadium, both from the fans and players alike. And yes, they were playing a less-than-stellar Arizona club, but I don’t think it really mattered who they were playing, they weren’t going to be stopped. And the Cardinals D isn’t actually that bad, coming into the game ranked seventh in total defense in the NFL, but you wouldn’t have guessed that on Sunday afternoon. Here are five key reasons the Hawks got the W: 1) 8 Takeaways Eight turnovers need no explanation. If you Googled how many teams have ever won whilst turning the football over eight times I’m sure the list would be small. The Cardinals had butterfingers for much of the ball game, but the majority of these takeaways were forced by  fast, aggressive, ball-hawking Seattle defense and special teams. The whole team was dialed in for 60 minutes and in showed on the stat sheet and the scoreboard. 2) Beast Mode Marshawn Lynch could legally change his name to Beast and nobody would be confused in the least. He has proven time and time again that he is a true monster when he has the ball in his hands. Maybe it’s the Skittles, or maybe he’s just always pissed off when he runs. Whatever it is, it works, and he is second in the league in rushing yards, but certainly first in punishment dished out. Lynch rumbled for 128 yards and three touchdowns. He has also surpassed his own single season record for rushing yards, and still has three games left. 3) Richard Sherman Richard Sherman, in the middle of an appeal process against his PED suspension, erupted for his best game of the year. Number 25 reeled in two interceptions, a fumble recovery and a touchdown. He was flying around the football, deflecting balls and making tackles on top of his amazing three takeaway afternoon. He’s a shoe-in for defensive player of the week, but could be missed greatly if his four game suspension is to kick in before the season’s end. Marshawn Lynch could legally change his name to Beast and nobody would be confused… 4) 12th Man The 12th Man is always vital to the Hawks success. No other team has a home field advantage as great as Seattle, and it was on full display against the struggling Cardinals on Sunday. Larry Fitzgerald said in an interview before the game that you can’t even hear each other talking in the huddle when those fans get going. A great quote was uttered by the games commentators claiming “Seattle is the false start capital of the world”. The fans were in a frenzy all afternoon, and had many things to cheer about in the stomping of the Cards. The Seahawks have yet to be beaten at home this season, a true testament to the 12th Man. 5) TEAM Pete Carroll brings a certain confidence and swagger to the Seahawks franchise. He also promotes a sense of team, and more importantly, family. The Hawks are a 53 man family, and they go to war for each other every single play. The players and fans are so well connected that the entire stadium is on the same page all game long. Players like Lynch and Sherman play with such swagger and aggression that the team truly embodies the Lil Jon song “Get Outta Your Mind”, and the fans can’t get enough of it. On Sunday the entire team was in Beast Mode. Everyone was fired up and flying around the field with reckless abandon. It’s tough to beat a team that’s truly in the zone and playing with zero fear and maximum confidence.  The Hawks are currently the fifth seed in the NFC playoff picture. The next three weeks will be crazy, just like the last 14. Let’s hope Beast Mode continues and steam rolls into the post season. Go Hawks! “Idiots” Running the Jets Re-sign Idiot Named Braylon Edwards

You thought the expression was “Misery loves company.” Well apparently, idiocy does, too, because the Jets have claimed Braylon Edwards off of waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.
