Somebody has finally knocked some sense into the head of Clark Hunt. Well, partially at least. After an atrocious three months of football for Romeo Crennel and his Kansas City Chiefs team, cornerback Stanford Routt was released, Crennel gave one of his jobs to Gary Gibbs, and Shaun Smith has returned to the defensive line. The announcement came on Monday, four days after a terrible loss to the San Diego Chargers, 31-13, on ‘Thursday Night Football.’ The Chiefs gave up another four turnovers, increasing their total to 29, the highest in the league. It is no secret that this team has not been able to perform at the caliber they should, and things are not looking good for the Chiefs. If not for the overtime thriller at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in Week 5, this could have been a Jim Schwartz disaster all over again. It was becoming clear that Crennel could not handle both responsibilities of defensive coordinator and head coach, so after eight weeks of bitter disappointment he decided...
BEST OF MAXIM
KANSAS CITY, Mo. Tyler Palko?
Todd Haley's fault.
Dwayne Bowe's diva streak?
Todd Haley's fault.
The losing culture? The tension? The misery?
Todd Haley, Todd Haley, Todd Haley.
This fall was supposed to be about sunshine. Remember? Sunshine, rainbows, unicorns, and Romeo Crennel. Blood pressures were down, expectations were up. That was the mantra of the spring...
Dave Skretta of the Associated Press reports that Chiefs QB Matt Cassel will start week 10′s game against the Steelers.
Brady Quinn has yet to be cleared for contact after suffering a concussion back in Week 8, so it’s not all too surprising that Cassel will be back under center.

CHIEFS (12.5) AT STEELERS
We all know how much Todd Haley wants this one for the Steelers, and if anyone knows the vulnerabilities of the Chiefs' defense, it would be the former head coach. But the Steelers don't really need the Haley Factor as motivation to pound the Chiefs they're...
With quarterback Brady Quinn still recovering from a concussion, Kansas City will go with Matt Cassel under center for Week 10's matchup at Pittsburgh.Fantasy Spin:If the Steelers can shut down Eli Manning, they certainly won't have trouble defending the erratic Cassel. This won't be one of Cassel's better fantasy days.
I know, I know. Who could tell the difference, right? But this is a pretty serious matter. The NFL has been trumpeting their efforts for the last couple of seasons to protect players from head injuries. The Kansas City Chiefs … Continue reading →
Kansas City: Ugly ugly ugly… and no, I’m not just talking about Romeo Crennel’s chances of being a head coach after this season, or even Scott Pioli’s chances of not being run out of town on a rail before 2013 kicks off. No, I’m just talking about the Chiefs’ chance of actually having anything useful fantasy-wise during a visit to Pittsburgh. The Steelers are playing...
Come next Monday night, the final nail will be driven in the coffin of this miserable Chiefs season. The Steelers will certainly provide the fireworks and the explosion of Todd Haley's offense will land squarely in the middle of this historically inept team.
