The Washington Redskins and their fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief yesterday as it was announced that quarterback Robert Griffin III was diagnosed with a minor LCL knee sprain and hasn’t yet been ruled out for this weekend’s game against the Cleveland Browns, reports Dan Hanzus of NFL.com. "We did not know going into the (MRI) if was a Grade 1, 2, or 3," Shanahan said Monday. "So it's a Grade 1, you're hopeful with rehab it gets better very quickly, but we don't know for sure. We'll have to go day by day and evaluate it day by day." While Griffin will continue to be evaluated and isn’t sure bet to start against the Browns, things could have been much worse for the Redskins. Griffin exited Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens with less than two minutes remaining in regulation after taking a hearty hit from defensive lineman Haloti Ngata. While he was able to return for four more plays, he eventually exited the game with a noticeable limp and didn’t play during the overtime session.
