The Washington Redskins have signed cornerback Leigh Torrence, the team announced.
This is his second stint with the Redskins.
Torrence spent the previous three seasons with the New Orleans Saints.
Torrence had 42 tackles, one sack and two pass deflections from 2006 to Nov. 8, 2008 when he was released and then claimed off waivers by New Orleans

The Washington Redskins cheerleaders, the First Ladies, are celebrating their 50th year in existence this upcoming season (although strangely no one has remained on the squad for the entire time) and as part of the final selection process for the team, the Redskins made the final auditions public (and sold tickets because hey, they aren't a charity—and SOMEONE has to pay the...
Bill Parcells will not coach the New Orleans Saints next season, according to a report Tuesday.
The ESPN report comes a day after the NFL upheld the season-long suspension it levied on Saints head coach Sean Payton and general manager Mickey Loomis.
It had been widely speculated that Payton was courting his longtime mentor to take over his role for the 2012 NFL season.
I used to like Drew Brees. He genuinely seemed like a good guy, but his actions and opinions since last year's lockout have led me in the opposite direction.
Despite a huge amount of evidence to the contrary, Drew Brees continues to insist that the Saints have been the target of improper punishment by the NFL, saying at a recent press conference,
"I would say what we...
All he had to do was ask, just inquire and maybe he wouldn’t be in this mess. Sean Payton is a good friend of Bill Belichick. In the 2010 preseason, they had their teams practice for a week together and share a lot of coaching notes.
What didn’t get shared were Belichick's “Goodell notes,” and that was a big mistake.
In 2007, Bill Belichick was caught on what is...
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees isn't the quickest with his feet, but he sure did his best to dodge a question on Tuesday.
When asked by reporter Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times if he planned to attend offseason workouts on Monday, Brees attempted to shift the conversation elsewhere.
"What I can say in regards to my contract is that we're continuing to...
Not too long ago NFL Network analyst (for now) Warren Sapp claimed via Twitter that he knew who the “snitch” in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal was. That person, according to Sapp, was former Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey. Commissioner Roger Goddell would refer to the claim as inaccurate. Shockey requested punishment for [...]
According to Jake Scott of 97.5 the Zone, the New Orleans Saints may be looking at Marty Schottenheimer to be the interim head coach while current Head Coach Sean Payton serves his one year ban from the league.
This is stemming off of Bill Parcells announcing that he will remain retired after the Saints vigorously pursued his services to take over the team for the one-year suspension...
The Arkansas Razorbacks fired its head football coach Bobby Petrino. Petrino has proven himself to be a person with very little moral fiber. You ever hear the joke about the old married man and the 25 year-old blonde that got into a motorcycle accident?
If not, you ever hear the one about the football coach that abandoned his team in the middle of a hard season and didn’t even...
The Saints don't pick till 89th overall at the end of the month's NFL draft and by now we all know the reasons why. It makes both getting excited about the draft and predicting who could land in black and gold very difficult. That said, I thought I would identify 5 players that would fit the Saints' mold, fill a possible need, and possibly be available around that 89th...
