The Washington Redskins signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Tanard Jackson to a contract on Friday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jackson will be reunited with former Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris, who is now in charge of the Redskins' defensive backs.
Selected in the fourth round in 2007, Jackson was twice suspended for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
Jackson, 26, had 35 tackles and two interceptions in 10 games for Tampa Bay last season.
