After being benched by Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin on Sunday, the team’s starting running back Reggie Bush said everything a politically correct team player should say. He emphasized he understood the decision and that he had to be accountable for the things he could control on the field. Per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Bush had this to say:
“I’ve never been benched in my life. First time. The only thing I can control is fumbling the football … When we are fundamentally sound you see we’re a pretty good team. When we’re not, penalties, turnovers, it’s a recipe for disaster.”
Days later, while conducting an interview for 105.9 Miami’s “Paul and Young Ron Show,” Bush let a little of his frustration show:
“I’m not gonna sit here and say it doesn’t bother me. It does bother me.”
Truthfully, it should bother Bush that he was benched and if it didn’t, it would be a bigger concern for Philbin than Bush losing a fumble. Later in the radio show, the hosts made a comment about Buffalo women being topless in unseasonably warm weather for the area, the other host stated, “You don’t want to see that!” to which Bush laughed and replied, “Not Buffalo women!”
I doubt Bush meant it the way it will be blown up, but it should make for some interesting fan signs this week in Buffalo!
