A new report by a Bay Area news station claims that troubled 49ers’ linebacker Aldon Smith received favorable treatment when arrested by the Santa Clara police. NBC Bay Area uncovered records that show Smith, after being booked on suspicion of driving under the influence at 9:40 a.m. PT, was released at 11:20 a.m. PT, a mere 1.5 hours later. Smith enjoyed an expedited trip through the Santa Clara County Jail, according to court records and information uncovered by the NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit, and was released several hours earlier than standard procedure is supposed to allow An anonymous deputy told NBC Bay Area — on camera no less — that the handling of Smith’s arrest “did not follow typical jail protocols and procedures.” That deputy and other “jail staffers” said typically people arrested on such chargers are held for somewhere between five and eight hours. “Normal protocols were not followed,” the deputy said. “That means that preferential treatment was given to Aldon Smith.” I thought police officers hold each other to some type of code, but I guess this deputy has no problem snitching. Athletes and celebrities get favorable treatment from the law, just like they are unfairly targeted some times. Am I mad because he was released a few hours before most usually would be? No. This guy must be a Seahawks fan or something.

Aldon Smith Could Return To 49ers In A “Couple Of Weeks”

49ers HC Jim Harbaugh told reporters following Sunday’s win over the Titans that OLB Aldon Smith could return to the team during the team’s bye week in week 9. “I’m not real knowledgeable on exactly when that’s going to be, but I think it’s some point in the next couple of weeks,” Harbaugh said, via Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee. “I hear things are going very...

Harbaugh: Aldon Smith might be back "in a couple of weeks"

Jim Harbaugh said today the hope among the 49ers is that Aldon Smith who is currently in an in-patient treatment program will re-join the team in the next "couple of weeks." That could mean that Smith who left the team after its Week 3 loss to the Colts would be back some time during the team's Week 9 bye week which follows next week's game in London. "I&...

Great Team Win for 49ers Makes Four in a Row

Tramaine Brock (@49ers)   The San Francisco 49ers’ early season struggles seem less concerning now that they have won four games in a row.  In Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans, which improved the team’s record to 5-2, a well-rounded 49ers team handily beat the Titans on offense, defense, and special teams.  All cylinders are clicking for this team that next faces...

Colin Kaepernick brings back the read option to perfection

The San Francisco 49ers won their fourth consecutive win by more than double digits, completely dominating the Tennessee Titans, 34-17.  The biggest reason why they had complete control of the game was Colin Kaepernick.  Kaepernick ran more than he did all season, alluding pressure and employing the read option.   Kaepernick rushed eleven times for 68 yards and his first touchdown...

Okay Social Media, Can We Stop With the Crazy Trade Ideas Please.

Look, I love talking about football and baseball as much as the next guy. And I love coming up with fake trades, and playing ESPN’s NBA Trade Machine (I wish they had a mechanism for football and baseball too!). I love talking on fan forums through facebook, and blogs like this very one, but its time to stop with that stuff now. The chatter on social media about these weird trade...

WR Anquan Boldin says QB Colin Kaepernick should continue to run the ball: 'It definitely clears things up for us'

San Francisco 49ers WR Anquan Boldin says when QB Colin Kaepernick tucks the ball and runs, the offense is about as dangerous as it could get. Kaepernick out of the pocket means defense have to dedicate resources to stop him, and that open up the passing game for Boldin and the other receivers.

San Francisco 49ers: Let Kaep, Gore run

The San Francisco 49ers have won again.  The 49ers reached over the 30 point mark once again and defeated the Tennessee Titans 31-17 to notch their fifth win of the season.  Frank Gore was the catalyst for the 49ers offense once more as he ran the ball 24 times for 70 yards and a couple of touchdowns.  Colin Kaepernick helped on the ground as well with 68 yards and running for...

Do the 49ers regret getting rid of Alex Smith?????

Last year the San Francisco 49ers rode the coat tails of Colin Kaepernick en route to the Super Bowl, but did they make the right decision at quarterback? Last year Colin Kaepernick was pretty impressive and looked to be on the path to filling the shoes of Montana and Young, but they have hit a […]

GIF: Jim Harbaugh loses his mind at refs during Tennessee game

Even with his 49ers up by 24 points in the third quarter against Tennessee, coach Jim Harbaugh still lost his mind, yelling at the refs over a call.

San Francisco 49ers: 2013 Week 8 NFL Power Rankings (#5)

Last week: 5 (+0) Record: 5-2 Colin Kaepernick had probably his best game since week 1 this week, completing 13 of 21 for 199 yards, while rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts, against a Tennessee defense that has been solid all season. It’s a positive sign going forward for the 49ers, who have won 4 straight, thanks largely to a re-emphasis on the run game. Now...

49ers accustomed to winning with long travel

(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By JANIE McCAULEY AP Sports Writer The San Francisco 49ers sure do travel well, and it's hardly by accident. Just like everything else in Jim Harbaugh's structured system, the team has trained for the challenges of leaving town for long hauls to the East Coast and across the pond. The third-year coach took his team for...

49ers-Jaguars Preview

The high-powered San Francisco 49ers are heading to London looking to extend a growing win streak. Their opponent has a much more modest goal. The Jacksonville Jaguars are hoping a change of continents will help them avoid dropping to 0-8, as they'll look to deny the 49ers a fifth straight victory Sunday at Wembley Stadium. San Francisco (5-2) has topped 30 points in each of...
