According to Dan Arkush of ProFootballWeekly.com, due to inconsistent play during the offseason from rookie wide receiver A.J. Jenkins, the San Francisco 49ers don’t expect him to make an impact this season.
“He hasn’t looked very good,” said one daily team observer. “He displayed some flashes with a few really difficult catches, but he’s also looked really bad at times, and he seems to have had problems staying on his feet.
“It’s early. Maybe he’ll show more in training camp.”
I’d be shocked if Jenkins ends up ahead of a guy like Kyle Williams on the 49ers’ depth chart to start the season.

A.J. Jenkins, star wide-out for Illinois from 2008 to 2011, was selected 30th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
