Aaron Hernandez has been battling an ankle injury for most of the season, and it looks like it’s going to cost him another game this weekend. NFL Network’s Albert Breer reports via Twitter that Patriots tight end is not expected to play this Sunday when New England welcomes the Indianapolis Colts to Gillette Stadium. Hernandez hasn’t played since Oct. 21 in the second week of his return from a sprained ankle which he suffered in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. Hernandez was listed as having limited participation in practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week. The good news for the Patriots, though, may be that wide receiver Wes Welker (ankle) and offensive lineman Dan Connolly (back) returned to practice Friday after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Guard Logan Mankins did not participate Friday, and he’s missed the entire week of practice with an ailing ankle and calf.
