According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Kansas City Chiefs could end up hiring former Bills and Colts general manager Bill Polian as their next GM once the season is over and they move on from Scott Pioli. Longtime NFL executive Bill Polian will be exploring NFL options in 2013, sources said, and numerous NFL execs believe he could be with the Chiefs next month. As previously reported, sources said Kansas City’s embattled general manager Scott Pioli was offered a contract extension prior to the season but did not sign it, and Chiefs owner Clark Hunt is under intense pressure to retool the coaching staff and front office in 2013. Hunt is a private man and sensitive to criticism, according to many who have worked for him. Polian’s track record speaks for itself, he might be the best available general manager on the market.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

Chiefs fan's Christmas list misspells 'Christmas' (Photo)

A female Kansas City Chiefs fan brought a sign to Sunday's game at Arrowhead Stadium with her "Christmas list" of possible improvements for her favorite team. Unfortunately, this Chiefs fan forgot to use spellcheck, or at least have a friend proofread her sign, as she embarrassingly failed to spell Christmas correctly. However, the sign seems to perfectly sum up...

Quinn gets nod in Chiefs finale

KANSAS CITY, Mo. With the Chiefs heading into their final game of this dreadful 2012 season, don't expect any changes at quarterback. Brady Quinn will remain the starter, meaning Matt Cassel, benched earlier this season, may have already played his last game in a Chiefs uniform. Cassel has two years remaining on his contract, but it seems unlikely that present management or...

Chiefs getting creative with losses

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Somehow, some way, the 2012 Chiefs keep redefining strange. Take the Chiefs' latest puzzler Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium: They actually dominated Indianapolis, rushing for 352 yards, third most in franchise history. And a week after gaining just 119 total yards against Oakland, the Chiefs finished with a whopping 507 yards of total offense this week. And...

Chiefs waste record setting day in loss

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Jamaal Charles seemed to be happy with himself. Peyton Hillis had to feel vindicated, and embattled offensive coordinator Brian Daboll finally had a reason to smile. Imagine how they would have felt if the Chiefs had actually won. Even while playing out the string in a season lost long ago, Kansas City managed an offensive output that should go down in franchise...

Photo: A Chiefs fan's Christmas list

At 2-13, the Kansas City Chiefs are tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the worst mark of futility in the NFL. As you might imagine, that leaves fans with a long list of Christmas wishes. Here is one fan's list in particular which basically calls for the team to completely wipe the organziation clean like an Etch A Sketch. Duly noted. Via Bleacher Report.

Colts make playoffs after beating Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Christmas came two days early for the Indianapolis Colts. They opened their biggest present Sunday afternoon with a 20-13 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The outcome pushed them into the AFC playoffs as a wildcard entry. They'll have another Christmas on Monday, when coach Chuck Pagano returns after missing more than two months while receiving treatment...

Report: Raiders plan on keeping Dennis Allen and Reggie Mckenzie, for now

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, despite a disappointing season, Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis doesn’t plan on replacing head coach Dennis Allen and general manager Reggie McKenzie.  But he might make some other front office changes. After much deliberation, Raiders owner Mark Davis does not intend to part with first-year head coach Dennis Allen and first-year...

Jets reportedly will fire OC Tony Sparano

Wholesale changes are coming to Gang Green and the first to get the axe likely will be its Wildcat wrangler. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports that the Jets plan to fire offensive coordinator Tony Sparano in a move that is "imminent." Sparano, who's in his first -- and probably last -- year with the team, has come under heavy fire for fielding a unit which...

Eagles Targeting Chip Kelly To Be Their Next Head Coach?

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that league sources have informed him that the Philadelphia Eagles will consider bringing in Oregon head coach Chip Kelly as a replacement for Andy Reid next season. Executives around the league expect the Eagles to make a “heavy push” to land Kelly. La Canfora adds that the Eagles are expected to be one of the first teams to reach...

Report: Jets don’t have any viable options to trade Sanchez & Tebow

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, there’s virtually no trade market for either TIm Tebow and Mark Sanchez.  If the Jets want to get rid of either player, they’re likely going to have to release them. When Sanchez restructured his contract last year to provide cap relief to the team, the new contract language effectively tied the struggling passer to New York through...

NFL Rumors: Report Suggests New York Jets to Fire OC Tony Sparano

After reports suggested last week that the New York Jets are likely to trade quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow this offseason, the house cleaning is reportedly not going to stop with the quarterback position. CBS Sports reporter Jason LaCanfora is speculating that the Jets organization is going to part ways with offensive coordinator Tony Sparano on what is known as Black Monday...
