John Garrett is leaving the Dallas Cowboys to become wide receivers coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to an NFL.com report. Garrett currently is the Cowboys' tight ends coach and passing-game coordinator, and the brother of head coach Jason Garrett. Garrett's departure would not be unexpected. He was not well-liked by other members of the coaching staff, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported last week. His departure would be the fourth for the Dallas coaching staff after an 8-8 season in 2012. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was fired earlier this month, and running backs coach Skip Peete and assistant strength and conditioning coach Walt Williams left the team. Garrett has been with the Cowboys since 2007.

Lovie Smith to the Dallas Cowboys in 2014?

All of the coaching vacancies in the NFL have been filled, and the most surprising name without a job this offseason, is former Chicago Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith, but his future head coaching gig could be with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014. There are a couple of reasons for this possibility, but you have to look at the facts first. The first fact is Jerry Jones has hired Monte Kiffin...

Jason Garrett and the ones that got away

Jason Garrett is uncomfortable, just like his boss Jerry Jones promised he would be. All around him heads have been rolling and changes coming. Skip Peete, running backs coach, gone. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, gone. His own brother John, tight ends coach, all but gone. Rumor has it his play calling duties will soon be…you got it. Gone. How wistfully must young Garrett look...

Jason Garrett loses play-calling duties

According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com, Cowboys owner Jery Jones has indicated that head coach Jason Garrett will no longer be the offensive play caller.  Offensive line coach Bill Callahan will take over the play-calling duties. Jason Garrett isn’t calling offensive plays. Bill Callahan is calling the plays. — Calvin Watkins (@calvinwatkins) January 22, 2013 Now Cowboys’...

Some people reportedly doubt DeMarcus Ware can make switch to defensive end

According to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, there are some people within the NFL that aren’t sure Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware will make a smooth transition to defensive next season. DeMarcus Ware’s transition to a 4-3 defensive end is going to be interesting to watch. He will be aided by the fact that he will be coached by one of the finest pass rushing mentors...

Jerry Jones Strips Jason Garrett Of Playing-Calling Duties

Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com reports that the new offensive coordinator Bill Callahan will take over as the team’s play-caller in 2013. This move has been rumored to be coming for weeks now, but it’s a clear indication that Jerry Jones feels that head coach Jason Garrett had too much on his plate last year. Dallas ranked No. 6 in total offense last year, so it’s not as...

So Then Houston Says To Jerry, "How 'Bout Them Cowboys!"

It's a big day today.  MLK Day, the Presidential Inauguration, Joe Biden around an all-day and night party, and HARBAUGH BROTHERS SUPER BOWL, which will very soon, if it hasn't already, be formed into a club and slammed against your head like Tony Dungy versus Lovie Smith and Jerome Bettis being from Detroit for the next two weeks.  But, lost in the shuffle is some news...

Jason Hatcher unsure where he’ll play in Cowboys’ 4-3 defense

Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Jason Hatcher told The Ben and Skin Show on 103.3 [KESN-FM] that he doesn’t know where he’ll play in Monte Kiffin’s 4-3 defense. “He still doesn’t know where I’m going to play yet,” Hatcher said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t know if I’m going to be the Warren Sapp in his 4-3 defense or not. He does have high hopes for...

Report: Jerry Jones to strip his head coach of play-calling duties

He wants to win, there is no doubt about that, but Jerry Jones is a terrible GM. His latest move is to strip head coach Jason Garrett of play-calling duties. This has been rumored for the last few weeks, as Jones has also entertained the idea of bringing in former Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt. For what it is worth, Garrett is not the offensive coordinator, that’s Bill Callahan...

NFL Rumors: Rob Ryan leaves St Louis without contract

Rob Ryan was one of the first coaches to be fired by the Dallas Cowboys as they make offseason changes. The brash Ryan told reporters that he would be unemployed for “like five minutes.” In reality, Rob Ryan has been unemployed for a few weeks now, and has really generated little interest around the league. On January 12, rumors suggested that Ryan was going to be hired by the...
