The Detroit Lions, despite playing with a woefully pathetic defense, have added yet another weapon for Matthew Stafford. Later today, they will officially announce the signing of Reggie Bush to a four-year contract per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Say what you will about Bush’s career to this point, but his addition fills a huge void in the Lions already potent offense. The Lions placed huge hopes on the shoulders of Jahvid Best and Mikel LeShoure, thinking they had a dynamite backfield combo to go partner with the best receiver in football. Then Best got a concussion. And another. And his career never developed the way that many expected when the Lions traded up in the draft to take him in the first round in the 2010 draft. Now, the Lions have the speedy back, who also is a pass-catching threat, to pair with the between the tackles power of Mikel LeShoure. This is a key signing for the Lions. The Lions have had a big day so far on the second day of free agency, as they also signed DE Jason Jones and CB Chris Houston.
