Report: Dez Bryant detained by police in Miami

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was detained by Miami police Sunday night after getting into a fight at a nightclub, wfaa.com reported Monday. The embattled player's mentor, David Wells, confirmed to News 8 that Bryant was involved in a scuffle at LIV nightclub at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. Wells told the Dallas TV station that Bryant was not arrested. Bryant had been trying to avoid the media spotlight since a report surfaced that he would be served with a lawsuit at the team hotel when the Cowboys were in the New York area to play the Giants on Jan. 1. The suit is being brought by Endurance Capital Fund, a New York-based finance company, which said Bryant owes more than 50,000 on an original 100,000 loan. The company said the debt was past due for more than a year and that Bryant had eluded process servers in Texas. Earlier last season, Bryant settled two other lawsuits brought by jewelry makers. One of the lawsuits alleged Bryant owed 600,000 for jewelry and sporting event tickets, the other for 240,000 owed for jewelry. Last March, Bryant was issued a criminal trespass warning and temporarily banned from an upscale Dallas mall.
