The Pittsburgh Steelers had recently released running back Beanie Wells in for a free agent visit on Friday and that visit appears to have not gone so well.
The 24 year old Wells, who was recently let go by the Arizona Cardinals, partly because of a right knee problem, reportedly has a "bad wheel" according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Twitter.
While Dulac did not say what part of the "wheel" was bad on Wells, we can only assume that he might be referring to his knee. Wells did, however, also have a turf toe problem last season that caused him to miss half of the 2012 Read more [...]

Over the course of the last several weeks Omar Khan has cleared $23,578,750 off of the Pittsburgh Steelers 2013 salary cap with just four contract restructures and one contract termination. Several months ago I laid out the course of action that Khan would take to clear around $20 million of cap space via four restructures. While I didn't nail the amount on the head, I did nail...
Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Keenan Lewis took to Twitter on Thursday evening after signing with the New Orleans Saints to say that he will miss the Pittsburgh fans and that the Steelers didn't offer him a deal to return.
So there you have it, the Steelers didn't even try to retain Lewis. Unless general...
It’s been reported by numerous outlets today that Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is in Boston today visiting with the New England Patriots. Earlier this week, the Steelers tendered Sanders a lower than expected offer. Should Sanders sign with the Pats or any other team for that matter it would bring the Steelers a third-round compensatory draft pick.
Now that Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is busy making a visit to the New England Patriots, several people are wondering if the organization will try to retain their former third round draft pick, should he sign an offer sheet, and if they do, where will the extra cap space come from to do that?
First off all, the Steelers need to deem if...
Plaxico Burress made it clear to Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert at the end of last season that he wanted to be playing for the Steelers in 2013.
“I told them Pittsburgh was the only place I wanted to be,”
The contract numbers are finally up for the three-year $5.5 million contract signed by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Larry Foote earlier this week and the breakdown is below.
Foote received a $1 million signing bonus and base salaries of $1.5 million in each of the three years of the deal.
Foote, who was reportedly also being courted by the Arizona Cardinals, likely needed more...
Wednesday wasn't as busy of a day around the AFC North as most of the splash was made on Tuesday. There were a few moves in the division, however, and here is your recap of day two.
Pittsburgh Steelers - The Steelers had a few moves that they made on Wednesday and quarterback Bruce Gradkowski was the big name. The former Bengals backup might go down as the biggest free agent...
TEMPE, Ariz. The Cardinals no longer have depth issues at inside linebacker. The team signed former Minnesota Viking Jasper Brinkley on Thursday evening, one day after adding former Redskin Lorenzo Alexander.
Brinkley will likely slide into the starting role alongside emerging star Daryl Washington, although Alexander has reportedly been told hell be given a chance to compete for...
It seems as if we have conflicting reports about Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who visited with the New England Patriots on Friday.
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Sanders has signed an offer sheet from the Patriots and that the Steelers now have to make a decision as to whether or not they want to match it or receive...
Jason La Canfora reports that the Jets have reached an agreement with former Steelers OL Willie Colon on a one-year deal.
New Jets GM John Idzik has done pretty well today adding two players with good upside for a reasonable price. We still haven’t seen the figures for Colon’s contract, but it’s doubtful he’ll receive much in terms of guarantees.
Colon, 29, looks to be a...
Last night the Patriots agreed to a three year deal with former Arizona Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson. The 33 year old veteran will add some much needed experience to New England secondary that has been struggling the last few seasons.
Wilson played in 15 games last year, recording 54 tackles and an interception. While he may be a little bit past his prime, Wilson is a five...
The Cardinals added to their depth on the defensive line Friday by signing free-agent defensive end Matt Shaughnessy. The news was first announced on Twitter by Cards outside linebacker O'Brien Schofield, Shaughnessy's college teammate and bookend pass rusher at Wisconsin.
Terms of his contract are unknown.
The 26-year-old Shaughnessy, entering his fifth year in the NFL...
He might come back to the team, if he agrees to reduce salary.
