Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports that the Giants will re-sign QB David Carr to be their backup next season. There were rumors that Carr could draw some interest as a backup with the Buccaneers being mentioned as a speculative option. Carr, 33, was taken with the No. 1 overall pick by the Texans during their expansion year, but obviously failed to live up the selection. He’s considered to be a decent backup option, but with Eli Manning having a pretty solid streak of consecutive games, it’s doubtful that he’ll see any significant playing time.
