The Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday fired longtime head coach Jack Del Rio, The Florida Times-Union reported.
The Jaguars (3-8) appointed defensive coordinator Mel Tucker as interim coach, the report said.
An announcement was planned for midday Tuesday, ESPN reported.
Del Rio was only the second head coach in the Jaguars' short history, leading the team since 2003 when he replaced Tom Coughlin.
The Jaguars last made the playoffs in 2007, and finished 8-8 last season.
Del Rio was under heavy pressure after Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Houston Texas, which saw the Jaguars eliminated from the AFC South race.
