Steve Wrigley of Action News in Jacksonville reports that sources have informed him that the Jaguars plan on “making a play to trade for [Tim] Tebow before the trade deadline this Thursday.”
Wrigley adds that they are still in the process of confirming this with the team.
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson has shot down the idea of trading Tebow, so it would be somewhat surprising to see them start fielding offers for him. Jaguars new owner Shad Khan previously mentioned that he would have drafted Tebow year’s ago and the fact that he’s from the area could certainly help with marketing what currently is a terrible product.
I’m not sure what will come of this story, but it will at least be something that we’ll be monitoring throughout the day tomorrow to see if this is actually possible.
