The Victory Formation:
Former #1 overall draft JaMarcus Russell, is attempting a comeback after finding himself out of the league after just three seasons. Russell’s weight ballooned to over 300 pounds after missing the previous three NFL seasons, but has dropped over 50 pounds and that began rumors circulating of teams showing interest. One team has even gone as far as giving him a tryout. The Chicago Bears, who currently have Jay Cutler as their starter with Josh McCown, and Matt Blanchard as his backups, will give Russell and opportunity to earn himself a contract in the Windy City this Friday, according to a report from Michael C. Wright at ESPN Chicago. In addition to bringing in Russell and the three other quarterbacks, the Bears plan to work out several veterans at multiple positions as they continue to evaluate how to best fill the back end of their roster. By putting together up-to-date evaluations on several veteran players, including Russell, the Bears will have gathered a short list of vets it can call in the event of an injury. NFL Network reported Russell would like to sign with a team where he can learn under a veteran quarterback. If Russell doesn’t sign with [...]

For the next few weeks we’ll be taking a look at a season preview for the Chicago Bears broken down by position, beginning first with the quarterback situation. When Jay Cutler was brought to Chicago from Denver in 2009, fans were relieved that the Bears had finally found their franchise quarterback. Some of those fans have backed off a bit as Cutler hasn’t exactly...
Free agent quarterback JaMarcus Russell will get his first chance at NFL redemption on Friday when he visits the Chicago Bears for a workout that will include three other quarterbacks, ESPN Chicago reports. It was reported last week that the former Oakland Raiders No. 1 overall pick and 2007 NFL Draft bust—who ran the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds three months ago—has been...
Jay Cutler is one of those guys that you either love or hate. He is capable of great things on the field, but he can implode with the best of them too. Then there's his personality. Again, you either love or hate his fiery nature.
When it comes down to it though we like this guy, and there is one really strong compelling reason why we do (and its not the cool smoking Joe meme...
Today's installment of Choose Your Quarterback pits Russell Wilson vs. Jay Cutler, the Nos. 14 and 17 assets in my rankings of the 32 presumed starting quarterbacks.
Here's a week-by-week fantasy breakdown of Cutler vs. Wilson, just in case you're torn on which quarterback offers better value from Rounds 3 through 6:
Week 1 Cutler (vs. Cincinnati) over Wilson (@ Carolina...
We break down film of the work Bears head coach Marc Trestman is doing with quarterback Jay Cutler at organized team activities (OTAs).
For Raiders fans everywhere, the name JaMarcus Russell brings back bad memories. Memories of Al Davis spending the first overall pick on the questionable kid from LSU when there were names such as Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson and Patrick Willis available.
Bad, bad memories.

Strictly using Friday’s workout to update their emergency list, free agent quarterback JaMarcus Russell will not win a contract this week with the Chicago Bears. “Very pleased” with immortal backups Josh McCown and Matt Blanchard, the Bears don’t want a fourth passer watching Kristin Cavallari’s inseminator. Shedding 50 pounds to get down to a svelte 265, the 27-year-old...
Tim Tebow fans must be pissed. To hear that someone other than Tebow getting a second chance back in the league while Tim is still available must be mind-boggling. Well sorry Tebow fans, it is true that the former number one 2007 overall draft pick JaMarcus Russell might get one more chance to play in the NFL.
Which team is rolling the dice with Russell? It is none other than the...
The Chicago Bears will meet with JaMarcus Russell on Friday,
when the former No. 1 overall pick will work out for the team, according to
Michael C. Wright of ESPN Chicago.
Russell has shed 50 pounds over the last few months, and he’s
reportedly drawing interest from several teams. The Bears are going to have him
and a few other available veteran quarterbacks in to see what they...
Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall practiced for the first time on Tuesday since undergoing arthroscopic hip surgery in January. The Bears resumed their OTA workouts Monday after having last week off. “Taking that week off gave me a chance to heal a little bit more, and
