PLAYERS: Ray Lewis
TEAMS: Baltimore Ravens

Photo from BaltimoreRavens.com Baltimore Ravens’ defensive back Ladarius Webb suffered a torn ACL in week 6 in a game against the Dallas Cowboy last year and was placed on injured reserve on October 16th. While it was once believed a player who suffered an ACL injury would need 12 months of recovery, it seems as an exception was created if your surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrew. According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, Webb remains ahead of schedule to recover from the torn ACL, of course citing a source “with knowledge of the situation.” Wilson said it isn’t ruled out that Webb would be available to play in the season opener rematch against the Denver Broncos. In the summer before the injury, the Ravens had just given Webb a $50 million extension so it is vital the team gets him back on the field. With long time leaders Ray Lewis and Ed Reed gone from Baltimore, Webb has an opportunity to become a leader not only in the secondary, but in a defense that has a lot of new faces it didn’t have when it won the Super Bowl last year.   Need NFL Tickets?
