According to KTVU, 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree is being investigated by the San Francisco Police Department for sexual assault allegations.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Crabtree has already been interviewed by SFPD with his lawyer present. Crabtree reportedly has pledged to remain cooperative moving forward.
Per the Chronicle, the alleged incident took place at an “unnamed hotel” hours after the Niners beat the Packers in the divisional round last Saturday.
The 49ers are playing in Atlanta against the Falcons on Sunday for the NFC Championship. Crabtree has not been detained or arrested by police and is with the team. He is expected to play in the game.
Crabtree (85 catches, 1,105 yards , 9 TD’s) is the 49ers top receiver this season, leading the team all major receiving categories. He’s become a favorite target of Colin Kaepernick since Kaepernick took over the starting quarterback role.
