GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Inside linebacker Brad Jones has re-signed with the Green Bay Packers, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Jones, 26, was an unrestricted free agent and drew interest from several teams. He visited the Tennessee Titans last week but left without a deal. Terms of his contract with the Packers have not yet been reported.
Jones, a seventh-round pick by Green Bay in 2009, had been an outside linebacker prior to the 2012 season. In training camp, though, the Packers' coaching staff decided to switch Jones to inside linebacker. After Green Bay lost starter Desmond Bishop to a season-ending injury in preseason, the Packers turned to D.J. Smith. When Smith later suffered a season-ending injury, defensive coordinator Dom Capers turned to Jones.
Jones, after not getting a snap at linebacker in the first five games of the regular season, had a breakout year. He recorded 77 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble and four passes defensed.He was graded as the third-best...
