According to the Boston Herald, the name plate of Patriots center Brian Waters has been removed from his locker as both sides struggle to agree on how much money he should earn this season.
“The two sides have been at an impasse over money. Waters is under contract for $1.4 million this season, but the team would prefer him to play for the veteran minimum, which would serve as a $500,000 pay cut. Plus, the veteran minimum only counts as $450,000 against the salary cap, so that’s even more appealing for the Patriots, who could save nearly $1 million on that side,” wrote the Herald.
Waters has been reportedly thinking about retiring and doesn’t want to leave his family in Dallas for an extended period. Maybe he wants to play for the Cowboys. The problem is that he’d have to be released from the Patriots, and they may not be willing to do that.

More questions than answers at running back for Patriots
When Benjarvus Green-Ellis left for Cincinnati, he left the security of a non-fumbling, hard running dependable back for one of the young Patriots backs to inherit.
Stevan Ridley looks to the starter, but after him, question marks are everywhere. When we looked at the offensive line as having their problems coming together, the running backs haven't particularly shined either...

Kyle Arrington surprising the Patriots
According to Kevin Fishbain of ProFootballWeekly.com, cornerback Kyle Arringon has really surprised the Patriots this year, since he came into the preseason and won a starting job for the third straight season. The thought was that Ras-I-Dowling would beat him out.
“Kyle, he’s put together well now. He’s 195 pounds or whatever it may be,”said Patriots director of player...
Mankins prepared to give Patriots a boost on line
Logan Mankins has been a question mark for some time with the Patriots.
New England's perennial Pro Bowl left guard underwent offseason surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, and no one with the Patriots - including Mankins - truly knew how long a recovery process it would take.
As such, the opener at Tennessee has been in doubt for a good long...

As if Tom Brady didn't have it good enough. The guy has multiple Super Bowl rings, a supermodel wife, millions in the bank, and a head of hair that makes Matt Hasselbeck green with envy. Brady: Replacement refs doing best
Tom Brady says replacement officials are doing their best and are not the reason for the outcomes of any of the Patriots' games.
New England's quarterback also said Tuesday he didn't see the call Monday night that resulted in Seattle's 14-12 victory over the Packers. Golden Tate was awarded a touchdown on a pass he and Green Bay's M.D. Jennings wrestled for in...
Fantasy Forecast: Week 1
QB Tom Brady
Fantasy owners invested top dollar to get Brady in drafts and auctions, and for good reason. He’ll start to deliver on that investment this week, but it would be wise to temper expectations to 3 TDs and around 300 yards. The Titans could fall behind early, which might limit the number of pass attempts in the second half. However, if the Titans can hang around...
Week 1: Patriots vs. Titans Preview
