According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the Oakland Raiders and quarterback Terrelle Pryor are both “optimistic” that he will be fully recovered in time to play in their Week 4 game against the Washington Redskins. Pryor still needs to pass one more phase of the league’s concussion protocol, but he was able to put in a limited practice on Friday. “I like the progress that I have seen out of him over the last few days,” HC Dennis Allen said. “We’re going to still continue to monitor him but he’s made some significant progress. I like where he is at mentally.” Allen later indicated that Pryor’s remaining concussion test is precautionary. “It’s not something that has to be done,” Allen said, the Oakland Tribune. “It’s something that we want to do to make sure. I want to make sure we’re making the right decision for this kid.” Pryor is currently listed as questionable, but he will most likely be a game-time decision on Sunday. If Pryor is to sit, Oakland would be forced to roll with Matt Flynn at the helm. For a struggling Redskins defense, having Flynn in for Pryor might be answered prayer for Washington.
