Last March, the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys were both docked salary cap space by the league office for front loading player contracts during the uncapped 2010 season, in an effort to create more cap room when the salary cap returned.  Given that the organizations involved are two of the most highest profile teams in the league, and that each has an owner used to getting things his way, it was easy to imagine that these penalties wouldn’t stand without a fight.  Both teams have already appealed the ruling, and were unsuccessful.  Now, however, the Redskins are contemplating seeking an injunction to forestall the start of free agency. According to the Washington Post, the Redskins had already begun to put contract negotiations on hold, telling players and agents that they hope to recoup some if not all of the forfeited cap space, and that the organization is unable to proceed in negotiations until the matter is resolved.  In addition, the Post reports that the Redskins have notified the league office that they intend to seek an injunction to delay free agency: Redskins officials have told people in the league that they are considering going to court to seek an injunction [...]
