Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that New Orleans Saints recently made TE Jimmy Graham a contract offer, but his representatives have yet to respond. Graham is in the final year of his slotted rookie deal and, assuming he doesn’t suffer a major injury, figures to be in line for a huge contract extension next offseason. The Saints could always apply their franchise tag to him, but if any tight end could win the argument that they should be paid like a wide receiver, it’s Graham. Pro Football Focus points out that Graham has spent 58.7 percent of his snaps split out wide or in the slot this season. It makes sense that the Saints would try to get a deal done now given that waiting until the offseason would only increase his overall asking price. On the season, Graham has totaled 358 yards receiving and four touchdowns. We have Graham listed as the No. 1 player in our Top 50 – 2014 NFL Free Agents list.   The post Report: Saints Recently Made TE Jimmy Graham A Contract Offer app...

Jimmy Graham mulling over contract offer from Saints

The Saints star tight end Jimmy Graham is proving to be Drew Brees' most reliable weapon so far this season: accounting for 23 receptions, 358 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He's already No. 6 on the list of the Black and Gold's all-time touchdown reception leaders. Now it seems that the Saints' management is ready to talk business, since Graham is in the final...

Saints climb to No. 4 on PFT power rankings

There is a new era in New Orleans as the offense has become a one trick pony in QB Drew Brees to TE Jimmy Graham, but the defense under new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has a new lease on life.

QB Drew Brees wants to get the offense rolling against Cardinals: 'There is a big sense of urgency'

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees knows the first two week the offense hasn't operated at their optimum best. Brees, who already has been sacked six times, will line up behind an offensive line that could be without right guard Jahri Evans for the first time in 122 games. However, Brees has thrown for three touchdowns and three interceptions and averaged 318.5 yards through...

Mark Ingram May Ask For a Trade

Mark Ingram may ask for a trade if his role in the Saints' offense doesn't increase. SOURCE: Jason La Canfora, CBS SportsFantasy Spin:The former Heisman Trophy winner hasn't really had a chance to utilize his impressive skill set in Sean Payton's pass dominant scheme. In terms of a trade affecting his fantasy value, it wouldn't matter anyway right now because...

Cardinals overwhelmed by Brees, Saints in rout

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Drew Brees passed for three scores and scrambled for New Orleans' first touchdown rushing of the season, leading the Saints to a 31-7 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Brees was 29 of 46 for 342 yards, with two TD strikes to tight end Jimmy Graham and the other to Robert Meachem. Brees was intercepted once -- by none other than New Orleans native...

Mark Ingram Asks for Trade: Could the Browns be on the Radar?

Saints vs Dolphins: Perfection at stake

The Saints are now 3-0 for the first time since their Super Bowl run in 2009, and this past Sunday's victory against the Cardinals definitely feels better for the Black and Gold because it was such a decisive win, 31-7, compared to the narrow wins the Saints ground out in Weeks 1 and 2. Statistics show 75 percent of the teams that start 3-0 make the playoffs, but head coach...

Brees, Saints rout Cardinals

Drew Brees Lights Up Cardinals

Saints Nation: Saints Move to 3-0, Drop Cardinals 31-7

Now that's what I like to see! Not to say that there wasn't some struggles involved in this win, but a 31-7 drubbing is about as much as you could ask for as the Saints move to 3-0, comfortably atop the NFC South. The story of these first three weeks continues to be the shocking and incredibly unexpected performance by the defense. For the third straight week the Saints have...

Saints vs Cardinals: 3 and “0″ That Was Fun!

You know how it is when you’re in a new relationship and you feel a certain way about the other person, but you’re just not sure when it’s safe to say it? Maybe you’re just blinded by the “newness” of it all. Maybe you need more time to see if what you’re getting from the other person is the “real deal”. Maybe revealing how you feel will freak them out. You...

Saints Nation: Offensive Player Grades vs. Cardinals

Quite a strange performance by the offense in this one, which turned in negative yards rushing in the first half before finishing with 104 yards on 24 carries thanks to finding some lanes late. Luckily the passing attack was mostly effective despite Brees being under constant duress. It was clear the only way to move the ball was going to be to spread things out. I will say, the...

Mark Ingram is Inactive

New Orleans halfback Mark Ingram (toe) won't be available Sunday versus the Cardinals.Fantasy Spin:Even when he's played, Ingram hasn't been much of a factor this season (just 1.8 yards per carry). Pierre Thomas will get more carries with Ingram sidelined though probably still not enough to warrant a start in fantasy.

Saints pummel Cardinals, 31-7, improve to 3-0

The New Orleans Saints may not be playing like it's 2009 exactly but they're starting the season like it's 2009. A staunch defensive effort combined with a pass-happy offense produced a 31-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals (1-2) on Sunday in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. It's the first time the Saints have kicked off the season with a 3-0 record since 2009. The Saints...

Saints Stun Reds At Anfield

In a match that Southampton showed their skill and guile, the Reds were left limping with a makeshift back four to start the day. While the Reds were strong in the opening 10 minutes of the match, the Saints would prove to be too much to handle as they stunned Liverpool with a 1-0 win. The Saints controlled the midfield battle closing down the Reds in the center of the pitch making...
