The Detroit Lions' peaceful offseason reportedly has taken a disturbing turn for the worse.
According to a newspaper report, safety Amari Spievey was arrested Tuesday in his hometown of Middletown, Conn., following a domestic altercation with his girlfriend.
The Middletown Press reported that the dispute centered on child-support payments, citing the police.

Spievey, 24, was charged with third-degree assault, risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct. Lisamarie Santos, 26, was charged with risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct.
Spievey and Santos, who have been living together, have a 2-year-old daughter.
Santos told police that Spievey put his hand around her neck and pushed her into a counter. Police confirmed that Santos had a small red mark on the front of her neck.
