The Atlanta Falcons went out and added a legitimate running game to their offense this offseason, but they may be without it for at least a few weeks. Steven Jackson, who signed a three-year deal with the Falcons during the offseason, may miss two to four weeks with a thigh injury he suffered on Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Jackson suffered the injury early in the Falcons’ 31-24 win against the Rams, finishing the game with just three carries for zero yards and one catch that resulted in an eight-yard touchdown. The Falcons’ run game struggled behind a combination of Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling the rest of the way, closing the game with 13 carries for just 36 yards. Jackson carried the ball 14 times for 77 yards and caught five passes for 45 yards in the Falcons’ loss to the Saints in Week 1. They’ll definitely miss that sort of production in the upcoming weeks, as they have an extremely tough road ahead. Matt Ryan and company will visit the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 before welcoming the Patriots and New York Jets to Atlanta in Weeks  and 5. For a Patriots team riddled with injuries right now, they might catch the Falcons at just the right time. Have a question for Luke Hughes? Send it to him via Twitter at @LukeFHughes or send it here.
