Multiple reports are saying that the 49ers have agreed to a contract with free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Adam Schefter says that the one-year deal is worth up to $3 million ($1.35 in base salary, the rest in incentives) and that Asomugha didn’t want any guaranteed money. Of course, he’s already paid $4 million by the Eagles just to get lost. The 49ers and Asomugha were first linked three weeks ago. In the down time after both sides met, Asomugha also entertained interest from the Saints. Asomugha is coming off a forgettable two seasons in Philly after being the top free agent on the market in 2011. But the cornerback does provide an upgrade to a Niners secondary that struggled in coverage last season.
