It was only a matter of time before Tony Romo does what he normally does statistically on a big stage. Playing on a national stage and in the home of the defending world champion (and bitter NFC East rival) New York Giants, Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys played the role of party stoppers in grand fashion. Very few gave Romo and the ‘Boys much respect coming into this contest and considering big-game failures of the past they seemed to have good reason; It doesn’t seem as though the Cowboys win very many games like these anymore. None could have felt more vindicated than Romo, whose 96.9 career passer rating is second in NFL history and came in having posted passer ratings over 100 in his last four against the Giants with six touchdowns and one interception. Many had dubbed him a choke artist or a fraud in big moments. Last night very well could have turned the tide for him. Throwing for 307 yards and three scores last night in a manner that seemed to show new-found poise in bigg...

Defense, Romo Lead Cowboys to Win Over Giants

Dallas Cowboys 24, New York Giants 17. I couldn’t have been more wrong on my prediction for this game, and boy am I glad for that! I had picked a 27-24 Giants win as I figured it was too steep of a mountain for Dallas to climb to win this game. But it turns out, these aren’t your 2011 Cowboys. And thank goodness for that. The 2011 version of the Cowboys, which had problems closing...

Tony Romo’s Arm Looks Good In Dallas Victory

Romo...

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants: Five Things We Learned

Finally NFL football is back! A late rally by Eli Manning and the defending champion New York Giants came up short on this opening Wednesday kickstart to the 2012 campaign. The long awaited divisional matchup began in lackluster fashion, the only touchdown in a yawner of a first half coming on a Tony Romo toss to Kevin Ogletree from ten yards out with 2:33 left before intermission...

Fantasy football splits loyalties

I know exactly how I hope Wednesday's NFL regular-season opener at MetLife Stadium will go. I want the New York Giants to start by pounding the ball on the ground, getting at least one rushing touchdown, hopefully by Ahmad Bradshaw. I want the Giants to be up by, say, 14 points at half so the Dallas Cowboys are forced to pass the ball in the second half. I want Tony Romo to throw...
