Pro Sports Daily:
Out on the adjacent football fields to SUNY Cortland between the white tents constructed for fans and the metal bleachers there has been a conspicuous absence.
Cornerback Dee Milliner the ninth overall pick in April’s NFL Draft and the first of the Jets’ two opening-round selections has been away — submerged in a contract-driven holdout.
Defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson the Jets’ other first-round pick signed on the morning the Jets reported here. As did wide receiver Braylon Edwards for a third stint with the organization.
Milliner has not been seen. He has missed two practices. In that time the Jets have already lost one cornerback Aaron Berry to a season-ending injury.
It has been a rough start to Milliner’s pro career. He was drafted as a hopeful replacement for Darrelle Revis. In a poetic twist he has begun his time with the Jets the same way Revis did — by being absent. Revis missed the first 22 practices of training camp in 2007 when he was a rookie.

LOSING, THEN BOOZING
Rex Ryan took a picture with a Jets fan this weekend, which normally wouldn’t be a big deal because I’m assuming he does so quite a bit. But this wasn’t just any ordinary Jets fan, this was a Jets fan wearing a shirt that confesses “This Team Makes Me Drink.” And judging by the rosiness of those cheeks, it makes that fan drink a lot. Can’t really blame him, I’d probably...
Love him or hate him, you have to admit one thing, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is entertaining. Ryan might have a career in politics because it’s obvious he’s never met a camera he didn’t like. Never one to shy away from controversy, Ryan appears more subdued this training camp. Gone are all the post season promises. Instead of being the braggart, Ryan seems as if he...
And with the latest news, officially announced by the New York Jets, fans' hearts are at ease.
Jets have agreed to contract with Dee Milliner. Milliner expected to be in Cortland tomorrow. #nyj

2013 1st Round, 9th Overall selection, cornerback Dee Milliner has signed his contract and, presumingly, will be at camp...
With his contract negotiations and shoulder rehab in the rearview, New York Jets rookie cornerback Dee Milliner has his sights set on returning to the practice field as soon as he's medically cleared by the training staff.
The cornerback holdout was a lot shorter for the Jets this time than it was when Darrelle Revis missed all of training camp in 2010.
The team and first-round pick Dee Milliner agreed to a four-year $12.66 million contract last night that will have Milliner in training camp today.
Milliner who was selected No. 9 overall missed the first three days of practice as his agent and the...
The Jets are finally getting rookie cornerback Dee Milliner into camp now that he's agreed to terms with the team. Now, Milliner has some catching up to do if he wants to be up to speed as quickly as possible.
Like Darrelle Revis before him, Milliner has missed some training camp practices, but it’s not to an extent that will set him back significantly. His holdout was beginning...
Rex Ryan is trying to diffuse any potential rift between him and new Jets general manager John Idzik.
"I think you guys are making a mountain out of a molehill, to be honest with you," Ryan told ESPN a day after Idzik refused to say Ryan would have final say in naming a starting quarterback. "Because ever since I've been here, this is my fifth year here, not one...
The media would like to know who’s going to start at quarterback for the New York Jets, but Rex Ryan is in no hurry to name one.
A day after Jets GM John Idzik proclaimed that he would have some say in who starts at quarterback for the Jets, Ryan got on the defensive, and accused the media of making much out of nothing.
“I think you guys are making a mountain out of a mole...
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan looks like he could not be happier taking a picture with a Jets fan whose shirt reads: "This team makes me drink."
It’s rough being the player that replaces a legend, yet those are exactly the shoes Milliner will walk in, as he tries to replace the consensus top cornerback in all of football.
After Darrelle Revis was traded to the Buccaneers, the Jets used the 9th overall pick in the draft, to selected the extremely talented Milliner out of Alabama.
Milliner will face a ton of pressure being...
Let’s end the rhetoric when it comes to who will have the biggest voice when it’s time to name the Jets starting quarterback for the 2013 season opener. It’s not going to be coach Rex Ryan or general manager John Idzik. It’s going to be offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.
Why? It’s his offense.
Idzik on Saturday and Ryan yesterday have spent two days trying to convince...
Rex Ryan has a prediction: If the New York Jets can draft South Carolina star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, he won't be the coach.
Ryan, considered by many to be in a make-or-break season, delivered a gem when asked Saturday how much of his daily discussions with general manager John Idzik involve looking beyond this season.
''It's safe to say I won't be here...
