It’s been a tough year for the New York Jets; things just haven’t gone right at all. It’s not Rex Ryan’s choice to stand at the podium during a press conference and be effusive with praise to the Patriots.
Ryan like to get under the Patriots skin, make smart remarks that get the Patriots riled up, or rile up his own team. However, 2012 is quickly going nowhere for the Jets and at 4-6, there isn’t much room for trash talk.
There is room to try to rock the Patriots asleep and Ryan is trying his best to sing the Patriots a lullaby.
"You can almost say he's a machine back there," said Ryan, whose team faces the Patriots on Thursday night in a virtual must-win. "The thing about him, he's a machine, yet he's a passionate and fiery leader. You wish he was just a machine. His competitive side elevates his team. That's what you get with those once-in-a-generation-type quarterbacks."
"When it mattered most, he delivered and got the victory," Ryan said. "We know each other so well. We know enough of Tom Brady to know that if he knows exactly what you are in you are in trouble," according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
