What was hinted at a few weeks ago has been all but confirmed: Tim Tebow is largely unhappy with the Jets.

Following a Week 14 contest in which Tebow received zero snaps, head coach Rex Ryan admitted that the backup quarterback likely is disappointed he came to New York this offseason.

"That's probably a true statement, as a competitor you want to have success, you want to have more opportunities and the fact that we're one game below .500," Ryan said on ESPN Radio Monday, via the New Jersey Star-Ledger. "We haven't had success as a team I'm sure he was anticipating. But again, I think he's happy to be a Jet.

"In my heart of hearts, I think we all thought there might have been more success for him, personally, running the Wildcat, than he's enjoyed so far. But there's still three games left."

During Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Tebow was active despite his supposed broken ribs, which held him out last week. However, in front of his hometown crowd, he again stood idly by watching Mark Sanchez muster up disappointing outing.

Common logic pointed to Ryan throwing the fans -- and Jags owner Shahid Khan -- a bone by playing Tebow, but it never happened. For the third game in a row, he didn't step foot on the field.

"I wanted to do it but obviously the game wasn't that kind of situation," Ryan said. "I was hoping it would have been but clearly it wasn't. I wouldn't have had him throw a football, he just would have handed the ball off, but absolutely I would have."

When reading between the lines, it's not difficult to recognize that Ryan, in his heart of hearts, doesn't view Tebow as a legitimate quarterback. There's been speculation that Tebow was a project forced on Ryan by headline-grabbing owner Woody Johnson, who's reiterated his intention to retain the polarizing signal-caller.

Tebow's inconspicuous lack of involvement -- only 63 snaps in the first 10 games -- certainly lends credence to that notion.
