Week Two’s Thursday Night Game featured AFC East rivals, the New York Jets and the New England Patriots. The game is always a heated, highly competitive game that always sparks football fans’ interest. This year’s matchup lived up to the hype, turning out to be a nail-biter until the final seconds. Gang Green fell short, losing 13-10, but it was a great leap forward for the Jets.

Jets cut P Malone, sign Quigley

The New York Jets have waived punter Robert Malone and replaced him with Ryan Quigley, who was in training camp with the team. Malone, in his second season with the Jets, set the franchise record last year with a 45.8 gross average, and had the second-best net average in team history at 38.5. He beat out Quigley in camp, and had an 84-yard punt in the season opener against Tampa...

Jets worked out Darrell Green’s son today Jared

Today the New York Jets worked out former Southern Football standout Jared Green.  Green was blown away by the facility and staff and seemed extremely happy to have a work out.  Green is super fast, and is the son of former lockdown corner Darrell Green. Jets’ Quinton Coples returns to practice

Darin Gantt of NBCSports reports that New York Jets linebacker, Quinton Coples, is back at Jets’ practice.  This is great news for the Jets and bad news for the rest of the NFL.  Coples will join a Jets' defense that is already rank third in the league with only 241 yards allowed per game.Sidelined since the preseason with a hairline fracture in his ankle, Coples can only...

Geno Smith lacks the support to win

If the New York Jets had a theme song for Thursday night, it would’ve been Snoop Dogg’s “Drop it like its Hot”. Geno Smith put together an uneven game at best in a 13 to 10 loss to the New England Patriots. The Jets defense did a great job holding Tom Brady in check most of the game as Mo Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson kept pressure on Brady. Take it with a grain of salt...

TOJ – New York Jets Running Back Grade Sheet (Week 2)

Grading Scale I grade each play on a 1 to 5 scale. Loss of yardage is rated a 0, no gain is rated a 1, a gain of 1-3 yards is rated a 2, gains of 4-6 are rated a 3, gains of 7-9 yards or are rated a 4, and gains of 10+ yards are rated a 5. TDs increase your overall grade by 10 points, and fumbles decrease your score by -5. I do it like this to factor in receptions, reward positive...

Report: NFL to police profanity in light of Patriots-Jets altercation

The NFL, not content to simply penalize dirty hits, is also planning to punish dirty mouths. Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that, following fights like Thursday night’s shovefest between the Patriots and the Jets, the league plans to tighten up its policing of profanity on the field. Some referee crews warned players about on-field profanities in Week 1 and will look to use taunting...

Young Jets fan loudly exercises 1st Amendment rights (VIDEO)

This little New York Jets fan may have irked a few other fans with his loud rooting, but you have to hand it to the the kid for exercising his 1st Amendment rights even louder when they tried to hush him up. The youngster took over a nosebleed section at a Jets home game (you can tell by the number of empty seats) and screamed "in your face" about a dozen times at some...

Mark Sanchez expects to play when he returns

The New York Jets placed quarterback Mark Sanchez on temporary injured-reserve earlier today. Even though Geno Smith will now have 8 weeks to cement himself as the starter, Sanchez isn’t giving up on the starting job. According the ESPNNewYork.com, the former first-round pick expects to start when he returns from his shoulder injury. I expect to play, that’s just the way I am...

Jets Place Mark Sanchez On IR With Designation To Return

Albert Breer reports that the Jets have placed QB Mark Sanchez on injured reserve with the designation to return. This means that Sanchez will be out until Week 8 of the NFL season, but also implies that the Jets intend to use Sanchez in some capacity once he’s healthy. TOJ- The End of the New York Jets and Quarterback Mark Sanchez Union

I’ve been a Jets fan my entire life. They are the only team that I’ve rooted for without switching allegiances. I liked the Braves when the Yankees were terrible, cheered for Michael Jordan before Marc Cuban traded Robert “Tractor” Traylor for a skinny kid from Germany named Dirk Nowitzki, and liked the Blackhawks before Messier bought the Cup back to Gotham. I’ve been...

Andrew Weber/USA TODAY Sports He chose rehab and will be put on the Jets, IR to Return list. If you remember, Sanchez suffered the shoulder injury in their Preseason match up against...

Forecasting the future of Mark Sanchez

From the moment that the New York Jets brain-trust drafted quarterback Geno Smith the in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, it was more than apparent that Smith was their new guy.The rookie was seemingly defeated in a quarterback competition that he had already won before he put on a green and white jersey. Incumbent Mark Sanchez lost the confidence of the front office last...
