http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLiO4BQNiNw&feature=player_embedded Andy Reid and the Eagles tried pulling off a clever bit of subterfuge during last night’s game against the Saints, as Philly wide receiver Riley Cooper hid himself in the end zone by lying down in the New Orleans logo on a kickoff.  Only until the ball was safely in teammate Brandon Boykin’s hands did Cooper spring up from the turf to catch the quick lateral from Boykin before taking it 94 yards to the house for the Eagles touchdown. The trick play was cunning, slick, and almost perfectly executed, save for the fact that the refs ruled Boykin’s lateral an illegal forward pass, which totally negated the play.  Unfortunately it’s one of those plays you can only pull off one time, and Philadelphia was so close, yet so far, from successfully turning in one of the best trick plays ever.  Still, it was pretty neat to see the Eagles’ trickiness come close to fruition, even if it was all for naught in the end. Here’s the GIF of the play in question (via @bubbaprog)… [video via Larry Brown Sports]
