IRVING -- Since Jack Del Rio was fired as head coach of the Jaguars on Tuesday, there has been speculation that Rob Ryan could be a head coaching candidate in Jacksonville. There is no evidence stating there's interest from the Jaguars, but hiring Ryan wouldn't be a huge surprise. "He's a Ryan, so he has the pedigree, his whole family's been coaching, everybody except his grandmother, he said," Cowboys inside linebacker Bradie James said Wednesday. "So, that's what goes on." Before landing in Dallas this year, Ryan found success with the Raiders and Browns as a defensive coordinator, but how would he adapt as a head coach? Could he do it? "I definitely believe so," Cowboys safety Abram Elam said. "I think Rob should've been a head coach. I believe that's his dream and he's definitely been preparing himself for that. He's been a good coach and I believe in him. I think he'll do a good job." Rex Ryan, Rob's brother, has done well as the head coach of the New York Jets , guiding the team to the AFC Championship game each of the last two seasons. Rob has said this season that he will get his opportunity to be a head coach, and when he does, he'll be even better than his twin brother. "I know Rob wants to be a head coach," Cowboys safety Gerald Sensabaugh said. "That's every coach's dream." Follow Jon Machota on Twitter: @jonmachota
