No need to wait for an official statement from the Washington Redskins, as Robert Griffin III issued his own personal 140 character one on Twitter, announcing that he is ready to play football as Training Camp looms: Doctors cleared me to practice. Coach is going to ease me in. Thank you for your support & See you in Richmond — Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) July 22, 2013 This probably means that Griffin is on pace for the season opener in September, just like he and his father have been saying since he had surgery to repair his torn ACL and LCL. RGIII tore his knee ligaments in the Redskins playoff loss ot the Seahawks. In his absence, Kirk Cousins has been working with the starters, just in case Griffin wasn’t ready to go when the season began. There is no sign as to when Griffin will see game action this preseason.
