Last year, a former Baylor basketball player, Richard Hurd, pled guilty to a $1 million extortion attempt. He had threatened to make damaging information about Griffin known to the public.
Ironically enough, Mr. Hurd is Griffin’s fiancée’s ex-boyfriend. “I know who he is. People do things when they’re angry at you or for whatever reason it is,” Griffin tells reporters on a conference call in the Cowboys facility.
Hurd will appear before US District Judge Walter Smith today for sentencing. This news comes, just one day before the former Baylor QB returns to Texas to play his first game as a pro in his home state.
Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins will play Tony Romo and his Dallas Cowboys in an afternoon game on Thanksgiving Day. Although the Redskins don’t have a great track record when playing on Thanksgiving Day, only 1-6 and in five of those games they had a lead into the second half and then blew it. With an athletic, accurate Quarterback like Griffin, the Redskins are hoping win this all important division game.
