Football Extra Points:
Robert Griffin III exploded into the league and has lived up to the hype. Now that we're more than half way through the season we should take a look as some of the postseason awards. We all knew that Rookie of the Year would come down to the #1 and #2 picks in the draft.
Here's a look at their seasons:
Andrew Luck was the #1 pick in the draft by the Colts and the most talked about college QB in years. He was drafted onto a team that was supposed to be rebuilding and he was just going to gain experience as a starter. No one told Luck he was supposed to lose as a rookie. He's sitting with the 8th most passing yards in the league (2600) to go with 10TD's and 9ints. Add to that his 159yds rushing and 5 TD's and you have a solid QB, rookie or otherwise. The fact that Reggie Wayne came back and is helping this young QB learn is a huge part of their success. The Colts are headed right into the playoffs and Luck is delivering on the hype.
Robert Griffin III was the second pick, right behind Luck by the Redskins. RG3 won the Heisman Trophy but he was definitely the second QB in the draft and did not get as much hype as Luck had the last two years in college. RG3 has bust onto the scene in the NFL and proven that he's a legitimate NFL QB. He is an exciting player to watch, has an amazing arm and can fly. Most of us thought he was walking into a more talented team than Luck, but it hasn't turned out that way. RG3 is sitting at #23 in passing yards with 2000yds to go along with 8TD's, 3int, 529yds rushing and 6TD's. RG3 has more exciting highlights and can break a run at any point, but he needs to be careful. He's already taking some huge hits and needs to be smart in order to stay on the field. He needs to be more Steve Young and less Michael Vick
At this point in the season I think Luck is the clear winner. Unless something crazy happens, RG 3 got the Heisman but Luck is ROY.

Many thanks to @dhm (via Jeff) for this GIF of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie taking a cheap shot at Robert Griffin III in the second quarter of today’s game. Also many thanks to DRC for whiffing completely, and to RGIII for throwing three touchdowns (and counting).
Years ago in the NFL, when Thanksgiving Day came it always meant that the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys would be playing each other. The schedule has always reflected of having the two teams play each other either on Thanksgiving Day or the week of Thanksgiving or right around Thanksgiving. 2012 will renew that traditonal Turkey Day game between the Redskins and Cowboys...
Handing out labeling following Skins games. Today, a 31-6 win over Philly …
Robert Griffin III — His numbers (14-15 passing, four TD, 158 rating, 85 yards rushing) were incredible, and the sequence where he scrambled for a first down on third-and-6 and then threw a 49-yard bomb for a touchdown on the next play was sublime.

Meetings between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins are usually highly anticipated and contentious.
